$10.00, Palestine Emergency...
BGR is actively working on various water projects tailored to the needs of different regions. These include the installation of hand pumps in remote villages, deep-water wells in drought-prone areas, solar-powered filtration systems in refugee camps, and the distribution of hygiene kits during emergencies. Every drop counts, and each project is designed to bring sustainable change that transforms lives.
Providing clean water reduces the spread of waterborne diseases such as cholera, typhoid, and diarrhea, which remain among the leading causes of death in children under five. When families have access to safe water and basic sanitation, they are less exposed to pathogens that lead to illness.
In many regions, women and girls spend hours daily collecting water, risking their safety and missing out on education and income opportunities. Providing nearby access to clean water empowers them to attend school and support their families, promoting gender equality and community growth.
Access to clean water supports agriculture and livestock, which are the primary sources of livelihood for millions of rural families. When water is available and safe, communities can grow crops, feed animals, and generate income through farming.
Access to safe water, sanitation, and hygiene is the most basic requirement for health and well-being. Yet, the global water crisis continues to affect billions. In 2022 alone, 2.2 billion people still lacked safely managed drinking water, including 703 million with no access to even a basic water service. Around 3.5 billion people lived without safely managed sanitation, including 1.5 billion without any basic sanitation facilities.
These numbers are not just statistics; they represent the daily struggle of millions of families who walk miles to fetch water, children who miss school due to illness, and entire communities trapped in a cycle of poverty. The need for action is urgent. Demand for water is rising rapidly due to population growth, urbanization, and increasing needs from agriculture, industry, and the energy sector.
Your contribution to BGR’s water appeal goes directly toward building and rehabilitating water sources such as deep wells, solar-powered filtration systems, and hygiene stations. By working with local partners and communities, we ensure long-term functionality and sustainability of each project.
