$10.00, Palestine Emergency...
Billion people work in informal employment, many of them women who have no access to job security or training
Women are garment industry workers in South Asia, but most work in informal conditions without contracts or rights
World’s work is done by women, who produce half the food but earn just 10% of the income and own under 1% of property
In many developing countries, women face limited opportunities to earn an income due to lack of education, resources, or societal restrictions. Sewing machines, combined with proper training, provide a practical and sustainable way for women to generate income from home, support their families, and contribute to their local economies.
Without this facility, countless women remain trapped in poverty with few or no options to improve their situation. Many are dependent on male family members for financial support and have no control over their own income. This dependency makes it difficult to make decisions for their children’s education, health, and wellbeing.
BGR believes that empowering women through sewing machine distribution and skill-based training is a powerful way to break the cycle of poverty. This program does not just offer tools. It opens doors to economic freedom, self-worth, and stability.
