$10.00, Palestine Emergency...
Billion people either have no toilet at home or use one that does not safely manage human waste
Children under the age of five die from diarrhea caused by unsafe drinking water, poor sanitation, and lack of hygiene everyday
Million people still practice open defecation, often going into fields, forests, near roads, or close to open water sources
Diseases like cholera, typhoid, polio, hepatitis, intestinal worms, and malnutrition are widespread in areas where human waste is not properly managed. Families living without toilets often use the same water sources for drinking, bathing, and washing as those contaminated by human waste.
Five countries, including India, Indonesia, Nigeria, Ethiopia, and Pakistan account for 75 percent of global open defecation. In these regions, the absence of basic sanitation traps communities in cycles of illness and poverty. Children frequently miss school due to sanitation-related illnesses or lack of clean facilities.
BGR is taking action to break this cycle. Through our Individual Family Toilet initiative, we construct secure, hygienic, and private toilets for families in underdeveloped communities. These facilities offer more than just sanitation. With your support, families can live without fear, children can thrive in healthier environments, and women can reclaim their dignity.
