Million people are employed by the coffee industry worldwide, many of them smallholder farmers in developing countries
World’s coffee is produced by over 25 million smallholder farmers, according to the International Coffee Organization
Smallholder coffee farmers live below the poverty line, despite the industry's scale, due to limited access to resources and market connections
Coffee farming is a powerful tool in the fight against poverty. Without access to this opportunity, families remain stuck in low-paying labor jobs or rely on aid to meet their daily needs.
In areas where BGR hopes to launch these plantations, people are surviving on less than two dollars a day. Children are often pulled out of school to help with labor. Women and elderly individuals are forced to work in extreme conditions without job security or fair wages. Coffee farming can change this reality by creating employment, enhancing food security, and stimulating local economies.
Your donation to BGR’s Coffee Plantation initiative can provide land, tools, training, and ongoing support to those who are willing to work but lack the means to begin. It can help us plant trees that will not only bear fruit for years to come but also nourish the hopes and dreams of families who have long waited for a chance.
