Access to high-quality education is not a privilege; it is a fundamental human right. Unfortunately, many children in underserved regions are denied this opportunity due to circumstances such as poverty, conflict, discrimination, and inadequate infrastructure. BGR's Education Appeals aim to overcome these hurdles by providing access to schools, teachers, books, and resources that can help people build a better future.
Through our Education Appeal, we provided people with knowledge, skills, and confidence, allowing them to become more self-sufficient, make educated decisions, and seek personal and professional development possibilities.
We have fostered gender equality by ensuring that girls and boys have equal access to education, supporting girls' education initiatives, and removing barriers to girls attending school.
By investing in education, we have helped to build a learning culture, promote social cohesion, and provide individuals with the information and skills they need to confront local concerns and drive good change.
A child’s right to an education includes the right to learn. However, for far too many children worldwide, school does not lead to learning. Although two-thirds of children globally attend school, over 600 million cannot achieve the required reading and math skills.
Poverty remains one of the most persistent hurdles to children’s education, followed by economic fragility, political instability, violence, and natural disasters. Gender inequality, however, remains one of the leading causes of girls dropping out of school in developing countries.
Donating to our Education Appeal allows you to help us offer scholarships, build schools, educate teachers, provide books and educational tools, and fund innovative education projects that empower individuals and transform communities.
